Loops was first presented at the NZ Fringe Festival at BATS Theatre in 2022 for a sold-out three night season. Created by performance designer Brynne Tasker-Poland, sound designer Benny Jennings, lighting designer Hāmi Hawkins (2023 seasons) and aerial artists Leanne Jenkins and Fran Muir, the work was the recipient of the NZ Fringe Grand Design Award and the Melbourne Fringe Tour Ready Award. Loops was also nominated for Most Original Production and Sound Designer of the Year at the Wellington Theatre Awards 2022.

Director/ProducerBrynne is an arts manager, designer, and technician who has been working in the Wellington arts community since graduating Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School in 2016. She has worked with a variety of arts organisations in this time, including World of Wearable Art, Circa Theatre, Java Dance Theatre, Barbarian Productions, and as Technical & Facilities Manager at BATS Theatre. She is currently the Communications & Operations Manager for Footnote New Zealand Dance, and Creative Director for her own performance company Company Hiraeth. In 2022 Brynne was awarded Lighting Designer of the Year at the Wellington Theatre Awards for her work on the productions Skin Tight and Undoing.

Aerial ArtistFrances is a multitalented aerialist and performer, with training across aerial rope, aerial silks, dance trapeze and dance. She enjoys incorporating contemporary dance into her aerial movement to create dynamic, fluid and unique performances. She has trained and performed in Aotearoa, Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom, with companies such as Irish Aerial Creation Centre, National Institute of Circus Arts, Melbourne and Gravity Circus, London.

Sound DesignerBenny is a sound designer and composer, working across both live performance design and film production. His credits include assistant sound designer on Avatar The Way of Water, Made in Them by the New Zealand Dance Company, SecondUnit, CubaSonic at CubaDupa, and Rushes at Circa Theatre. Benny was awarded the Pivot to Digital award at the Wellington Theatre Awards 2020 and nominated for Sound Designer of the Year in 2022.

Aerial ArtistLeanne Jenkins is an English aerialist and performer, with training in Dance trapeze, aerial Loop, aerial rope, dance, parkour, and partner acrobatics. She is a passionate circus, dance and movement artist who enjoys merging differing forms of movement and expression to create multi-level meaningful performance and movement experiences. Her background in parkour and dance has contributed to her love of pushing the boundaries of circus art to incorporate a sense of flow which channels emotional experience and challenges traditional movement style. She has worked and performed across the globe including London, Paris, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Bangkok, Singapore, Hawaii, LA and NZ.
